I think a while back, we had hardware issues, and a tech went on site to diagnose, and may have connected directly to the server with his laptop, so now the output goes to the port he connected his laptop to.

    Is there any way to change this console selection, if you are not physical at the machine? I only need to get the machine to boot off CD for the AIX migration. I do have an HMC, but it is for Power5 and up machines.

    bootlist -m normal cd0 hdiskX <--the rootvg hdisk(s)

    and then reboot with cd insert on cd drive.
