I keep getting the "no operating system" message. Plus, if I watch the NAS storage device during the attempted boot, I do not see the AIX box "login" to the NAS.

I have been focusing on the SMS set up and have a couple of questions that I am searching for answers. In the setup of the "target" which I interpret as the NAS box, I am asked for a "Target LUN number". I have three disks on the NAS, but only 1 has the rootvg volume group. I don't know what "number" to specify.

After setting up the iSCSI configuration panels, just before I do a "normal boot" I look at the "information" option. It lists all the choices, however, it lists the NAS iSCSI name as the "initiator" and the AIX box as the "target". When in the setup panels, I specified the AIX box as the initiator and the NAS box as the target.

Also there does not appear to be a way to clear the "Target LUN". For example, if I specify a "Target LUN" of 15 and look at the information panel it will list a Target LUN of 15. But if I go back and change the "Target LUN" to "0" the information screen will show a Target LUN of 15. If a specify a "Target LUN" of 00, the information screen will show a target lun of 00. Strange.

The bottom line is I am looking for someone that has been able to boot off of iSCSI and let me know what they used for "Target LUN".
