Is there a practical way to keep a fixed number of backups (like 3) on a flash drive? For that matter is there a practical way to keep a single backup on the drive by not deleting the previous backup until the current backup completes?

The very limited access to the power and flexibility of the underlying HMC operating system can be frustrating at times.

I know of no way to do this.

I would hope you are removing the USB Flash drive off site so that you can recover from a site disaster and so should be using three flash drives.

    Thanks, Nigel Griffiths.

So it looks like reformatting and then backing up may be the only solution. I don't like the period when there is no backup or an incomplete backup on the thumb drive, but it sounds like that's the only practical solution.

If anybody else has suggestions, please speak up!
