I am looking for asynchronous HMC events and come across /rest/api/uom/Event REST API, but looks like it requires client to periodically poll the URL for new events. Is it possible to configure HMC to automatically forward all the events to registered clients.

    Thanks,

    Hermesh

The HMC REST APIs does not support push notifications at this point of time. The client needs keep polling to receive the events.

    Thanks,

Thanks for considering the REST Api for consuming the events. Currently we do not have the PUSH mechanism of notifying the events. As you mentioned, pull is the way to get the events. But we will see the feasibility of push mechanism of the events. We will publish if any new future on the events are available.

Could you please let me know how you are using the REST Api events today? Which object and attribute in specific you are looking through the events? Thanks!

Manju, our clustering solution (VCS) provides high availability agent for LPAR. To avoid periodic monitoring we were looking for asynchronous events similar to what LDOM provides.

    Thanks,
