Has anyone ever "wish" that they could ingest Delimited Files directly into Optim? (Without DB2 Fed)

Of course, we can use DB2 Fed or a supported Optim (DB alias) database to stage the delimited files AND then ingest them into Optim but how awesome would it be if Optim had a native connector to point to a directory of CSV's?

I have a python script to grab CSVs and insert them into a relational database but man.... I would love to see this added as a direct native connector in Optim. P.S.  I submitted an enhancement request for this last year. Just in case you're reading this Peter. ;-)

Over the last few years, we've ingested over 300,000 thousand delimited flat files into Optim. I want to work smarter, not harder... Help us, make this process easier...

    Hi Danny,

One idea: there are companies that offer ODBC drivers for text files.  For example Progress Software has a DataDirect driver for Test files.  This would still require Fed Server, but might allow you to read direct into Optim without staging a load operation into DB2.  I don't know if it would be faster or slower overall, nor am I sure it would even work.  But the configuration would be to use the Text driver, connected to Fed Server, and Optim connected to DB2/Fed server.
