Recently we rebooted one of our old (AIX 4.3.3) system and on the reboot, we noticed that none of the subsystems got started:

    Subsystem Group PID Status
    qdaemon spooler inoperative
    writesrv spooler inoperative
    lpd spooler inoperative
    clvmd inoperative
    inetd tcpip inoperative
    gated tcpip inoperative
    named tcpip inoperative
    routed tcpip inoperative
    rwhod tcpip inoperative
    iptrace tcpip inoperative
    syslogd ras inoperative
    xntpd tcpip inoperative
    timed tcpip inoperative
    sendmail mail inoperative
    snmpd tcpip inoperative

These are just a sample. We have looked in the various config files such as /etc/rc.tcpip/rc.net/inetd.conf and everything looks ok.

Manually starting the subsystem does not work either.

Has anyone seen this behavior before? Thanks in advance.
