Without the use of VxFS/VxVM on top ... does IBM AIX in its roadmap have support for SCSI UNMAP/TRIM in the pipeline? If so, when?

    If not, why?

    All feedback is appreciated, Thanks!

For further visitors, AIX 7.2 TL1 appears to start some very rudimentary support on JFS2:

But that only covers Filesystem Shrink / Delete and LV remove and reduce operations, no support for file operations or unmap known unused blocks

What is people doing to recover space on the arrays?

I wish it will be implemented at some point, although the 5 years and counting that is taking to SVC / Storwize to implement this, it's not promising
