Yum installation failed.
If the failure was due to a space issue, increase the size of /opt and re-run yum.sh
or install the downloaded packages from /tmp/yum-20180928095832 manually.
Another reason for failure could be mixing of Toolbox packages and packages from other sources.

Please update libjpeg to libjpeg-6b-7.aix6.1.ppc.rpm and then try installing rpm packages or run yum.sh script again.

I was able to update libjpeg with rpm -Uvh and then I had to run  rpm -Uvh popt-1.16-3.aix6.1.ppc.rpm. Now is it safe to run "yum update" as recommended by the yum.sh script end output?

Before that would like to know if you have rpm packages installed from non AIX Toolbox repositories.

Could you let us know the list of rpm packages installed and like to check if any possibility of incompatibilities.

I'm going the paste in some of my terminal history. Before I do that, I'll summarize where I'm at and how I got there. First I installed rpm.rte and yum.sh from the ftp aixtoolbox site. I installed the rpm.rte with installp. yum.sh didn't work until I updated a few things such as libjpeg and popt. Then yum remove gnupg, yum install glib2, yum install gnupg2, and then yum update. After all that, yum and curl are acting up and now I'm stuck. I've seen some other posts that talked about python breaking yum, ssl and or ssh being old or not from IBM. I'm not sure if its part of the 7.1 installation, but I found a preexisting /opt/freeware directory on my system and did find an rpm that shows perzl in the rpm -qif details. We paid IBM to set this up though using a couple different people. So, I don't know much about the installation. If you need any command outputs, please be specific. Please see below for details...

libcurl.a looks for ldap library in /opt/freeware/lib path. Since LIBPATH is set it is trying to resolve it from the /usr/lib path.

Please unset LIBPATH and then try the "yum check" command.

 

If after unsetting libpath you see error related openssl then you can try installing the latest version of openssl filesets from this link https://www-01.ibm.com/marketing/iwm/iwm/web/reg/download.do?source=aixbp&lang=en_US&S_PKG=openssl&cp=UTF-8&dlmethod=http

Run "updtvpkg" command after updating openssl filesets.

I removed openssl from perzl (openssl-1.-.1p-1.src.rpm). After I issued the rpm -e on openssl, it broke.
