    After this, I have to restart the server and it comeup again normally and prompts to login.

    Please suggest how to resolve this issue.

    Did you previously enable the root password?  The VIOS server ships with root disabled. Why aren't you using the oem_setup_env mechanism to exercise root authority?

    Sorry, If I made you get confused.

    This LPAR is a VIOS client, not a VIOS master server.

    The .iso image I am using is mounted to this LPAR using a virtual FBO drive.

    Did you try another ISO image? Sounds like an error in the image.

    You should be able to reset the root password using any AIX image that's reasonably recent. It doesn't have to be the exact same OS, TL and ML level.

    Thanks a lot for the resolution provided.

    Can't figure out why earlier iso image didnt work, I even installed servers using that very image.
