if let's say there would be on putput that 7100-01_AIX_ML is not complete, then you can check which filesets are too low running command:

# oslevel -rl 7100-01


so, on your 5.3 system recommendations if are you would get by oslevel -rl 5300-09

Thank you for your response.  We were told by a software vendor, whose software we run on this host, that some filesets are missing on the 5.3 TL9 level we have and those missing filesets needed to be loaded before we can go to our venders next version of software as we are ready to do that.  We have a couple other ibm boxes with power ha on them updated that are also at 5.3, however not missing the required filesets, soon to the lates aix version.  I will work on that project next.

You could go to fixcentral (http://www-933.ibm.com/support/fixcentral/aix/selectFixes?release=5.3&function=release) , download the appropriate AIX 5.3 TL9 fix pack and do a smitty update all with it.

For security reasons I would recommend to update to the latest service pack for AIX 5.3, what is 5300-12-08-1316.
