Our problem comes when we try to perform a disk failure and a boot from remaining disk.
We pull hdisk0 out of the server and expect the remaining disk to function correctly. We are getting "permission denied" on commands such as /usr/sbin/shutdown etc. Other problems are CDE applications do not work such as rlogin and xterm session not starting. some directories have the "." current directory showing and not the ".." parent directory entries.
This all seems very strange and points to updating bos lvm filesets,my question is why if all data is mirrored and syncd, do we lose all AIX sbin commands. I am looking for any informtion on testing LVM mirroring. We are currently pulling the disk (which is pretty drastic, but the ultimate AIX LVM mirroring test). Unfortunately our test is failing horribly.
Any ideas would be grateful..
