    A non root volume group was backed up in AIX 5.2 ML 07 using savevg and the same was restored in AIX 5.3 ML 03 using restvg command. The data could not be restored . The logical volume is created on AIX 5.3 with no data and a empty lost+found folder

    Have you restored the same savevg backup successfully to another AIX 5.2 machine? Were the file systems mounted during the savevg command ran? Was the filessystem busy or idle during backup.
    What are the console messages when you restore the vg? With which savevg command did you save the vg? Usually I use /usr/bin/savevg -f </mountpoint/filename> -i <vg-to-backup>.
