Hi team, Im currently studying the Unsupervised ML Course ; in one of the videos comparing different Clustering Algorithms (
Unsupervised ML: 2. Selecting a clustering algorithm /Comparing Algorithms ) they mention that the problem with Mean Shift is that it doesnt have the flexibility to work with non spherical shapes.
However, searching on internet about Mean Shift it seems is widely used in image/topographical recognition etc. Judging from the videos it does indeed deals well with amorphous data shapes, just one example:
