Hi Guys, I'd like to share a whitepaper we recently finished. It's about how you can leverage IBM Spectrum Fusion as a backup/restore solution to support disaster recovery in IBM Cloud Pak for Data.

IBM Spectrum Fusion is a software-defined storage solution that allows organizations to manage their data more effectively, efficiently, and securely.

We've used a very common scenario that involves WKC, DV and DataStage to simulate generation of production data. Spectrum Fusion is used to periodically back the data and then you will be able to restore it to a passive cluster should any disaster happen to your active cluster.

IBM Spectrum Fusion is a disaster recovery solution that helps organizations to protect their data and applications in the event of a disaster or outage. It is designed to provide continuous data protection (CDP) by capturing and replicating data in real-time across different storage systems and locations. This ensures that businesses can quickly recover from disasters and minimize the impact on their operations.

One of the key benefits of IBM Spectrum Fusion is its ability to replicate data in real-time, ensuring that the most up-to-date information is available for recovery. It also provides a flexible and scalable solution, allowing businesses to customize their disaster recovery strategy based on their specific needs and budget.

To implement IBM Spectrum Fusion for disaster recovery, organizations first need to set up a secondary storage system in a different location than their primary system. The two systems are then connected, and data is continuously replicated in real-time between them. This ensures that in the event of a disaster, data can be quickly recovered from the secondary system.

IBM Spectrum Fusion also provides other features that help organizations to ensure the availability and reliability of their data, such as data compression and encryption, bandwidth optimization, and monitoring and reporting tools.

In conclusion, IBM Spectrum Fusion provides a reliable and scalable solution for disaster recovery and continuous data protection. By leveraging its real-time replication capabilities and other advanced features, businesses can ensure the availability and reliability of their critical data in the event of a disaster or outage.
