    Hi,

i'm currently working on a project using optim archive. Any tools that the users can use to access or query optim archive?
they are currently using sap bobi, but there seems to be limitation using this.

any other tools which can be used?
    would appreciate the help.

    thanks.

Hi Archibald - the tool to access and query the Optim Archive File (AF) is the Open Data Manager (ODM).

Another option would be to use the Optim Archive product itself to query the Archive Files.
I hope that this answers your question.

    Hi Archibald,

As suggested by Baha, you can use ODM to connect to the exposed ODBC/JDBC or can use Optim Connect Studio query feature.

To provide the access to clients who do not have access to Optim Infra, we use ODM + DB Visualizer (as query tool) as it supports ODBC connections.

    Regards,
    Rohit

    Hi Archibald,

Use "Optim Connect Driver for ODBC 3.5 " and create ODBC connection on your local.
You can access that ODBC connection on any Tools which accepts ODBC connection. I am using "Toad Data Point" Tool to access Archive files via ODBC.

Let me know if you need more details.

    Hi,

Just got information that ODM will be discontinued. would there be other alternative so that the users can still query the archive files?
there was a suggestion to create an archive query data source and use Archive File Access function of Optim?
would you have any idea how this can be done?  would really appreciate guidance on this.

    thanks.

    Hi Archibald
ODM support only discontinued not the product, so you can still use current product as is .. in case if you run into any issues with ODM product then we will not get IBM support as they are no more support the product.
IBM also planning to come up  with a Paid / Licensed version of ODM like product, which allows the support too. We are Yet to get details about that new product.
