  • 1.  sqlhosts entries For standard Engine

    Hi Family.

I have taken some amusement that this forum has designated me a "party starter". So I've decided to start a new one, although it's been a few weeks since I booted to Linux.

I recently had an interview with an agency that is still using SE and is considering migrating to IDS.  The technical interviewer concentrated on IDS issues, which I think I handled reasonable well.  And I was looking forward to pulling my fcopy-table utility out the mothballs.  (Didn't get the job... Grumble..)

But it got me thinking: It has been YEARS since I have seen a sqlhosts entry for SE, let alone a sqlhosts file with multiple entries for SE on multiple hosts. With no server name, how would you even address one SE "instance" on one host.  I'm sure I've seen it handled but I don't recall how.  And every search I run only includes entries like ontcpnet.  Even in this forum, out of 50 search results, not one addresses this.

Would someone please post an example of such a sqlhosts file?

BTW, I've lost the bookmark to the GitHub subset for our software repository so would someone please post that URL for me?  (If I find it after posting this I will post the answer to that latter question.)

    Thanks for pointers.
