  • 1.  Handling Chinese Characters in ITX

    Posted Fri April 07, 2023 07:22 AM

    Hi Paul Brett,

We have a Source File with Big5 Encoding and Chinese Characters in that. It need to converted to XML file format with UTF-8 encoding.
When we decode (from Big5 to UTF-8) the chinese characters doesn't appear as we expected and it has been distorted. We used CPACKAGE function.

Please advise how to achieve this  in ITX.

    Thanks & Regards,
    Suriya Prakash

Do not use the CPACKAGE() function.  It does not do what you think it does.

Just have the input Typetree read the data, and have the correct properties defined for the data.  Map these to output objects defined as UTF-8, and it should work.

If not, post an example here.
