Firstly, I apologise if this is in the wrong community. I normally 'live' within Planning Analytics, but I'm reaching out to this community with an issue that has plagued me for months.
Last year we moved our IBM Planning Analytics from on-premise to the cloud. Honestly, it was the best thing we've done. The model is far more stable, the support is fantastic; it's a much better user experience at a lower cost.
The downside of the move was that we could not install complementary applications (such as Jupyter notebook and Mediawiki) on the managed linux server. We use Jupyter to do analysis and Mediawiki as our documentation server.
No problem, I thought, I will just use IBM's $200 credit to set up these applications in the IBM Cloud myself. Better still, now that IBM supports the Bitnami packages, the whole thing should be as 'Easy as 1-2-3' (as the blog below claims).

IBM Cloud
I logged into the IBM Cloud, chose 'Mediawiki' from the catalog, created a free cluster, pressed install and waited for the magic to happen.
After several attempts, I managed to get the chart deployed, but the pods would fail with permissions issues. After chatting with support, scouring the forums and raising cases, I gave up without success.
Ultimately a super-helpful technician did end up getting the Mediawiki chart to work, but it is still not 'as easy as 1-2-3' (see case CS2351990). I just could not find a way to install these applications without having to teach myself Kubernetes.
I then gave up on the idea of using the IBM Cloud to host Mediawiki and Jupyter notebook.
Azure
I was loathe to do this, but today I decided to give Azure a try. Like IBM, they too offer a $200 credit to get things started.
Within 30 minutes I had a working Mediawiki instance. I didn't need to play with permissions, nor did I need to upload YAML files. I just followed the prompts and waited for the application to deploy
Can somebody help me here. I really would prefer to have these complementary applications hosted on the IBM Cloud, but I just can't make it work. Am I missing something with the IBM Cloud offering?
