    This week, we followed the activity of five IBM Champions speaking at the IBM TechCon event (way to go @Largou walid, @Thor Ingham, @Andre Wiradarma, @Joseph Westman, @Al Wagner). We are looking forward to @Ralf Roeber speaking in an upcoming Cognos REST API webinar. We're looking forward to connecting with 50-100 of you at IBM Think in May.

    Plus, we're looking at so many upcoming events (and deadlines for Call for sessions, from user groups to the IBM TechXchange call for sessions deadline on 30 April). But we know we're not catching ALL the places you're speaking and attending, from user groups to industry events. 

    So tell us: where are you headed? Will you be speaking? We want to follow along....

    Hi all,

    this week I'm attending Kubecon in Paris to hear what tech community is talking about (AI & observability to no one's surprise). 
    im currently organizing IBM Think Benelux for June 2024. Main topic will be hyperautomation. Inwill be speaking there as well about the added value that IBM can deliver for the fincial sector regarding Dora regulations.

    I am planning to speak at the TechXchange in Las Vegas this coming fall (submitted two sessions today - one presentation is with a customer (State of California)).
    Also, I am on the agenda for the GSE UK Virtual event in April, and the GSE EOTC in Böblingen, Germany presenting on IBM Z Monitoring Configuration Manager.

    Hi Libby,

    I would have loved to have been speaking at IBM Tech Con (just finished), which is squarely in my area, but never saw any call for papers, and indeed was barely aware of its existence until a few weeks out. It first made it into our newsletter in the February issue. I think the advertising on that one could have been better.

    I've submitted a session for IBM TechXchange (told you I would), so waiting to hear about that,

    I'm also on the agenda for GSE UK Virtual in late April.

    Nice to be back presenting again - seems like it has been a while.

    As you know, many of my engagements involve working with Universities, so I coordinated and spoke at an event at Illinois State University last month and spoke at the Chicago zCouncil about mainframe skills last week.  This week I am heading down to University of Illinois Springfield for a mainframe 60th anniversary event and an exciting announcement, and then my next conference will be SHARE in Kansas City if my session gets accepted.  October will be busy with the IBM Data Tech Summit at SVL, followed by the TechXchange in Vegas.

    And I'm very excited to share that at the event last night at University of Illinois - Springfield, it was officially announced by the Department Chair that the mainframe is back!  Next semester will feature a new Introduction to Enterprise Computing course, taught by a former co-worker and close friend, that has decades of experience working on the platform.  That makes six Colleges/Universities in Illinois now!

    On 29 of February I've done an IBMi Presentation in Unicredit Leasing of news and how to integrate DEVOPS with their way to work on IBMi. Present RDI and X Analysis with GIT,JIRA and Jenkins integration. 

    Last week I've attend on 21 of march with an Italian Partner (BIG BLUE) a webinar about News on V7R5M0 of IBMi and present Fresche application to analyze the RPG/COBOL source files in order to create documentation and cross reference tech info. ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=phmsijITrx4 ). 

    Next week I'll be on Luxembourg to present Merlin and V7R5 with free form RPG news to a  Bank.

    I'll attend to 2024 CEC2024 Milan as sponsor in co marketing with Italian IBMi tech big provider ad.

    Next I'll attend on 6/7 June the FAQ400 i Days meeting in Milano  in Italy as sponsor Silver and will do a speech on IBMi Security.

    I will be speaking at the Maximo Utility Working Group - Maximo Technical User Group meeting.  Doing a presentation regarding creating a custom application in Maximo to manage requests to create new inventory items.  Topics covered include cloning applications, automation scripts, database relationships, conditional UI, etc.  Hands on details for IT, Business Analysts and Consultants.

    I have also submitted a speaking proposal for Maximo World but have not heard back yet... fingers crossed.

    I will also be co-presenting with Anne Antonelli at the ADMUG Analytics and Data Maximo User Group), Anne has been using my Maximo Query Manager application to help prepare for the upgrade to MAS 8 and I will be on the call to answer any technical questions that might arise.

    It was a fantastic talk, there were about 45 people connected and I think it was a very interesting topic.

    I am planning to speak at the Big Data & AI World in Frankfurt (Main) in Germany together with Maximilian Burkardt (IBM). Our topic will be a chatbot that combines domain knowledge with data knowledge in our complex german healthcare data.

    Because of this event it is not possible for me to visit the think in Boston this year :(
