  • 1.  Workspace cube view not updating.

    Posted Mon May 22, 2023 08:34 PM

    Hi all,

I have a public cube view saved in the tm1 server and published in a workspace book. I am updating the server saved view with a turbo integrator process. If I open the view in the workbench, it is, in fact, updated. However, the workspace cube view is not. Moreover, in the workspace cube view context information I read the saved cube view name. If I get the MDX statement from de server saved updated cube view and the workbook cube view, both are different.

Is there a way to reset de workspace cube view to the server saved version without replacing the view in the workbook with the updated one?

    Hi Jose,

Not sure that this is possible as the MDX saved with the cube viewer in the PAW board specification is disconnected from the underlying view as far as I can see.
The only thing I have noticed in the past is the name of the base view may be retained but from there on, changes must be made in the PAW book itself.

Within the board specification, the queryState is stored in Base64 and there is a reference to the ViewID but do not see anything that indicates that it should update from the underlying view.

Don't think that helps you do what you want but delve a bit deeper into this to see if it makes sense.
Hopefully someone else can provide further insights.

Views saved in Planning Analytics Workspace are disconnected from views in TM1.  However, Workspace views can reference named subsets that are stored in TM1.  If a Workspace view references a named subset, and that subset changes members, it will be reflected in the Workspace view.

The ability to save Workspace views back to TM1 is primarily to support using those views as a data source for Turbo Integrator processes.  Note that Planning Analytics for Excel can use views that have been saved to TM1, and views saved in the Workspace content store.
