  • 1.  Support of DefineCalc in Tm1web

    Posted Wed April 26, 2023 09:26 AM

    Hello,

It seems that DefineCalc is not supported by PASS (TM1WEB). This is what I gather from reading the documentation.

    Can anyone confirm this?

If so, do you know if PASS is expected to support this function and when?

    Thank you!

My expectation at this time is that PASS will support DefineCalc when used against Planning Analytics Engine sources, I do not have a timeline for that work yet given PAE adoption is still rare.

For TM1 sources, the expectation is that automatically created subset aggregate UDC's will continue to be used.  That could change in the future but is dependent on a large number of factors, including the adoption rate of DefineCalc within PA for Excel.

Please continue to send feedback on this topic.

The fact that DefineCalc is not supported in websheets severely limits its usefulness.

I have raised an idea on the portal here:

Enable support for | IBM Data and AI Ideas Portal for Customers

    Please vote!

    Hi all,

are there any news regarding the support of DefineCalc in Websheets?

If this feature is not being supported, which would the workaround for using UDC / custom roll-ups in PAfE combined with TM1Web?

    Best regards,

    Albert

    Thank you for this hint!

Maybe we can get it a bit earlier as this function is very important!

    Ted

The Roadmap shows this as scheduled for next quarter so if that's not the case then perhaps this needs an update.  DefineCalc is useful but for anything being centrally authored and available within the ecosystem the likely assumption is that it can be consumed in TM1 Web. Hence people probably won't use it in PAfE if it is not supported in web.
