  • 1.  SSO without Cognos Gateway?

I am working on an installation of PAL with CA (for CAM only) and TM1 residing on the same box.   In this case, CA is installed without a CA gateway, and everything seems to be working properly.   User can log in through TM1Web and Perspectives just fine using their domain credentials, but they are not identified automatically via SSO.

The CA_IIS.bat file was executed and the error came up stating that the Gateway was not installed (only CA server).

My question is, must the gateway be installed in order to enable SSO?     We would like to not install the gateway unless it is necessary.

If CA gateway is not required, any ideas why the user is not being recognized?    Or, are there any tweaks in the configuration to enable SSO when not using the CA Gateway?

I believe the Gateway is required to use SSO. When CA 11 .0.1 first came out, IBM removed the Gateway completely and quickly added it back for SSO customers. I have installed SSO on PA 2.0.7 and it required the gateway to be installed and configured appropriately. Best of luck!
