  • 1.  Remove Cognos 11.1.7 mobile installation before installing Cognos 11.2.4

    We have Cognos 11.2.4 installed on the Production server but are struggling with all the mobile functionality.

    Cognos 11.1.7 was previously installed but by an unknown person. 

    Is there a method to check whether the separate mobile installation on 11.1.7 was deactivated and removed before 11.2.4 was installed?

    I found the two blog post listed below. The first post mentions that the old installation must be removed and the second mentions that the mobile installation can be tested.

    Both articles mentions the folder 'mobile-config'. The folder was found and the path to it is ibm\cognos\analytics\node-services\services\mobile-gateway\config. 

    IBM has requested us to re-install 11.2.4. Does it make sense to try to remove the mobile configuration as per the first blog before the re-install of 11.2.4 is done?

    Hi Adriaan - I had a similar question about not knowing ahead of time to uninstall mobile from 11.1 prior to upgrading to 11.2.  In one case we simply removed it after the upgrade and I have not noticed any issues, what issues are you experiencing?

    The mobile-config directory would be directly under "mobile", not in the location you give. (mobile is the directory created during the 11.1 installation, here are the old install steps Installing the IBM Cognos Analytics for Mobile server on Windows - IBM Documentation).

    We are getting QR Code generation and mobile access with no issues so far.
