    HI Everyone

We have PAW Workbooks showing our PnL. On the homepage, users select their node of the Profit Centre hierarchy to use throughout the workbook. The selection is stored against the }Client dimension so that it can be referenced every time they open the workbook. the dashboards are set up to show the children of the selected node.

The dashboards mostly work fine, but there is one issue that only appears on certain nodes of the Profit Centre hierarchy - When right clicking on a dashboard and trying to drill down through a few of the nodes, it reverts to the original view (linked to the selection on the homescreen)

This is consistent with certain nodes only. I have tried starting at the top node and drilling through to a leaf element, and for the applicable nodes they revert back. I have also tried selecting a lower level to start with and get the same outcome on these nodes. The nodes that are acting up have the same properties and structure as the nodes that are working as expected.

It seems odd that it is persistent with the same nodes, across all dashboards, so I am thinking its an issue on our end rather than the software. Has anyone come across this before, or has any ideas on where we are going wrong?

    Hi Dale,

For these certain nodes, do their children have a different hierarchy vs those that do not have a problem?
Ex.  Do they have children that are also C levels whereas the others only display N level children?
If this is the case, you could try to modify the subset you are using to display the selected node and make sure that it is fully expanded. I believe if the problem nodes have C levels that you drill into, then you return to the subset, it will revert to the original with it collapsed.

    Hi Bruna

Thank you for the suggestion. Looking at the hierarchy, the ones that work and the ones that don't work both have C level children.

The subset that is being used is defined as the user selection on the home page expanded to one level so that the first level of the node down is illustrated in the dashboards - we are using waterfalls to identify swings. If we change this to the fully expanded hierarchy, the waterfalls are too granular to be meaningful.

It is really odd that we can drill into one node and not the other.

    Hi Dale

I am also seeing this issue, in fact I raised a support ticket on this "TS008701285 - PAW visualisation drill down no longer working as expected in 2.0.73" in March when we went from PAW 2.0.64 to 2.0.73

    I noticed two things

    1) The item being drilled on was held, as opposed to being replaced with it's children
    2) The drill down worked only once, and then despite being actioned again, returned to the original starting position

This has impacted our users using the treemap and column chart visualisations.

Annoyingly I cannot replicate using the IBM 24Retail sample as it is not fully representative of the models we use as it's hierarchies are not multiple in number nor deep enough

I have recorded a video to show the issue as IBM Support are having difficulty replicating this.
