I am missing the icon buttons in the middle of the set editor.  I first noticed this using v75 of PAfE so I updated to v76 thinking it may just be an issue with the version.  I am getting the same issue in v76.  I also I have tried it on another machine and it works fine there.  The difference between the machines is version of Excel.   It is not working Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2016.

Has anyone see this before and know how to fix it?

    Any help would be appreciated.

This screen is a webpage rather than pure Excel so that would be the area to research any points of difference between working and ~working.
Makes sure you have IE11 installed on the machine concerned.

this is usually due to the security policy and/or site trust level for the PA service, vs the OS controls.

specifically font-downloads must be allowed to succeed (those middle buttons are font glyphs, not images)

you can find the relevant settings in control panel>internet options

suggest making the PA service a trusted site, or an intranet site (if appropriate); and then to make sure the trust zone configuration allows for font downloading.

note that group policy controls may supersede local configuration, I can't advise too much there.

    Hi Ted,

I had the same missing-icon issue and the font downloads fixed mine.
Is it possible to include the font in the PA installation package?

    Thanks,
    Kong

This is a really interesting thread

We are having similar issues in that users are unable to see icons, or even the context dimensions, row and column headers, or need to click the refresh button to see data within the exploration view

I've tried all the IE guidance and still it doesn't work. It feels like there are undocumented things we need to do when pushing the xll version of PAfE to users.

Can I ask you guys, what specifically I need to ask our IT guys to setup in order for users to be able to see icons and other objects in the viewer please

    Thanks

interested to see screenshots of those other UI elements, afaik, they're not glyphs but can follow up more.
can use the F12 app in windows OS to inspect the UI which may reveal more about the issue, but may be best served by opening a support case with IBM.

I'd say it's likely a distinct concern from the Set Editor 'middle' buttons topic, though.

the font is included in the workspace installation materials, it's atypical to persistently install fonts to the desktop font system for web based technologies in this case.

as the new webview rolls out in PA for Excel the control surface on font management will change, it will be less likely to be impacted by configuration.

i'll continue to share feedback with the Workspace team, and the new set editor UI will arrive in PA for Excel, which i'm unsure if it's still using any font glyph's (i believe it's all vector graphics instead)

    Hi Kong,

Do you know which setting you changed to get this to work? This is happening for us and we want to figure out how it can be fixed.

    Thanks,

    Luke
