Good morning, I hope you are all well.

I am reaching out to seek guidance as I am initiating my journey with IBM Cognos Analytics with Watson 11.2.4 on cloud.

I am currently assessing a new project where it would be highly beneficial to embed Cognos into a web-based application. I seek your expert advice on how this could be achieved. I am curious to know if there exists any pertinent documentation or accessible examples regarding this matter. I would greatly appreciate any insights or contributions you can provide to assist me in this endeavor.

Thank you in advance for your time and assistance.

    Best Regards,

    Hi Leticia,

If you are simply looking to embed Cognos content (eg. a report or dashboard) into another web page, this is a good place to start: https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/cognos-analytics/11.0.0?topic=content-sharing-embedding . (It shows how to get an HTML snippet to insert into your embedding web page, to embed a given report/dashboard). An important side topic is how you will authenticate into CA, for this emedded content (this is also discussed a little bit on a subpage, from this link).

If you want a little bit more control on the content being embedded, you can also modify the URL used in the embedding link with the parameters described on this page: https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/cognos-analytics/11.0.0?topic=mc-creating-custom-urls-display-run-cognos-analytics-content#wig_cr_create_custom_url

If you are looking to build more interaction between what's in your embedded CA content and the containing page, there are also APIs available to allow event messaging between what happens inside the CA embedded content (eg. selecting a chart element inside a dashboard) and the containing web page, or vice versa.
