  • 1.  Cognos Analytics 11 with Oracle 10 g db

    I have need information about Cognos Analytics Cognos. Could we use Cognos Analytics 11 with Oracle 10g DB?

    When we have connected to oracle db(10g), we have getting this error:
    XQE-DS-0020 "Oracle" server version "Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.3.0 - Production
    With the Partitioning, OLAP and Data Mining options" at "jdbc:oracle:thin:@//X" is not supported.

    ORACLE 10 is not supported.

    The initial release for Oracle 10 was in 2003. It is not supported anymore by Oracle: https://support.oracle.com/knowledge/Oracle%20Database%20Products/742060_1.html

    Just FYI in case anyone attempts using Cognos 11.2.3 with Oracle 11.2.0.3.0!

    I tested several query subjects in FM and all failed with this message: "XQE-DAT-0001 Data source adapter error: java.sql.SQLSyntaxErrorException: ORA-00933: SQL command not properly ended".

    I tested the data server connection and I receive a message that it "is marked for deprecation". Maybe the message should be updated?

    XQE-DS-0018 "Oracle" version "11.2" of the server is marked for deprecation.
    XQE-DS-0015 getDatabaseProductName: "Oracle".
    XQE-DS-0015 getDatabaseProductVersion: "Oracle Database 11g Enterprise Edition Release 11.2.0.3.0 - 64bit Production
    With the Partitioning, OLAP, Data Mining and Real Application Testing options".
    XQE-DS-0015 getDriverName: "Oracle JDBC driver".

    ORACLE stopped offering premier and extended support for 10 circa 2012-2013.

    Cognos Analytics query engine does not support ORACLE 10.
