  • 1.  Assistant Error within Cognos Analytics

    Hello everyone,

    I am encountering an error with the Assistant in Cognos Analytics, and I am taking the IBM Junior Data Analyst Certification. Hoping I am not going to need the assistant, but I still would like to use it in the future. I am getting this message: Sorry, I encountered a problem with our Conversation Service. Please contact your administrator. 

    I do not know my admin. Therefore, I have sent a message to see if anyone can help. I read an article on this, and a person said that there will be an update to the Cognos Analytics code to support the latest version of Edge. If that was the issue, has it been completed? If not, what should I do to fix it on my computer.

    Hi Daniel,

    Are you allowed to download and install a browser version that doesn't have the issue?

    Additional details as to the nature of the issue are posted here.
    This will be resolved in the next Fixpack for 11.2.4. I don't know if there has been an announcement as to the release date.

    Hi,

    During the last Ask-me anything webinar, it was announced that Cognos Analytics v11.2.4 fixpack is due in March 2023.

    Hi Daniel,

    There is workaround - use Mozilla Firefox. It works!

    Other browsers based on Chromium have problem (i.e. Egde, Chrome). I could not solve it even with IBM Support. 
    I've got a FixPack2 for CA 11.2.4, and it still does not work.
