To be fair, my standard answer to the question "Can Cognos Analytics do that?" is always: "Yes, but it's a matter of time and money".

Where can I go to get sample reports that are specific to my industry?
I find myself needing specific types of data and I don't usually have a way to get this information.

What tools are out there to help understand what the error codes are in the log files?  Google sure doesn't have much relevant information.  Frankly, neither does the IBM website.  More resources for helping when going through log files, please.

Is there a way to pass parameters to a dashboard via URL?
When embedding a dashboard as an iFrame, how can you hide the toolbar/controls?

I had asked a question during the webinar concerning a recent upgrade to 11.2.3 and dashboards not working in our Dev. region.  I believe this may be due to some IBM extensions that we have previously installed from the Accelerator catalog.  Is there any way to know which extensions that worked in previous versions may cause issues in 11.2.3?  Or an easy way to track what extensions may not be supported/functional in future releases?

    Thanks

    Hi Zach,

I'm afraid the answers to your questions are no!

You can try to use the following solution:
Running Cognos Analytics with customized extensions and views disabled

Basically, you remove everything then you add every extension, one by one.

    Best regards,

    Thanks @Patrick Neveu.

We had tried the 'factorymode' which is how we determined it was the extensions.

The bad part is we have various production dashboards using some of these extensions so depending on which ones are impacted we'll have to rework existing dashboads.  This experience will probably put an end to our utitlization of extensions if we can't plan ahead or have some sort of forewarning of future implications prior to upgrading.

Hey Zach. Can you send me which extensions you're having trouble with? I'll see if I can fix them up for the 11.2 release. I view the IBM extensions as more technical demos than supported (which they should totally be). There were a few big differences in the dashboard API between 11.1 and 11.2 and it gave me some headaches building backwards compatibility in my own extensions.
