Looking at the "new features" for Planning Analytics Workspace 2.0.76; it mentions the ability to notify users with an email when a step in an application is set to open.
    https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/planning-analytics/2.0.0?topic=2wnm52-send-email-notification-when-you-open-plan-step

It doesn't mention it anywhere in the documentation, but am I correct in assuming that this is a cloud-only feature?

    Hi Declan,

This is a cloud-only feature for now but is planned to be available on Planning Analytics Local with our SC78 release.

    Thanks,
    Marquise

    Hi Marquise,

Thank you for responding on this one.
It will be interesting to see the email functionality start being built into the tool directly, I am sure most of us have been doing our own things with powershell scripts or similar for a while.
So although this is a specific use case for the "Plans" to start off with - I expect you will start getting requests for enhancements to expand it into something we can call elsewhere also.

    Thanks,

    Declan

    Hi,

Let me kick off the requests! :)

I haven't used Cognos Analytics for a while but with event studio you could build alerts that sent emails when a certain, defined event had occurred, for example, a disabled code had a value, a purchase order was overdue etc etc etc.

It would be great if event functionality was part of Planning Analytics, because this is a real time saver, in that users don't have to go digging for stuff, the stuff comes right to them. Among other benefits.

    regards,

    Mark
