There should be no issues. You have to make sure of a few things:
- the SQL Server system is TLS 1.2 compliant
- the redhat system can "tallk" to the SQL server machine -> if this is blocked, you will get a ECONNTIMEOUT in the Secure Gateway logs
- connection is via native SQL Server credentials
- you are using the correct host and port. Note that Secure Gateway cannot use a named instance like SQL Server/instance 1, it would need the port of the instance to connect
Hope this helps

Subject: Connection to SQL Server 2016
Hi all,
We have IBM Planning Analytics on cloud (2.0.75) and Secure Gateway on premises running on Red Hat. We need to set up a connection with MS SQL Server 2016 (13.0.6300.2) running also on premises. This SQL version is absent on IBM documentation (IBM Planning Analytics with Watson - Related software for a specific product). Can this connection be done? Is there any guide that we can follow?
Thanks in advance.
