Have you recently purchased Planning Analytics on Cloud or do you need a refresher of steps to get started? Please see a list of steps to get onboarded and to get the most out of your purchase:

Verify login to PAW

  • Accept invitation email to login to PAW - you may need to create an IBMid account to login
  • If you do not have invitation email, navigate to https://myibm.ibm.com and you will see the invitation at the top of the screen

Set up support

  • Your IBMid account is also used to create support cases with IBM Planning Analytics support for product related issues
  • Refer to this guide to acquire support access for your organization. When acquiring support, you will use your ICN (IBM Customer Number) which is described in this link (https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/what-my-ibm-customer-number-icn)
  • Ensure to choose "Planning Analytics on Cloud" as the product you wish to request support for

Download welcome kit

Setup server alerts in PAW

Remote desktop login test

  • Your welcome kit will contain the modeler username / password combinations along with the .rdp profiles required to login

Create data source connections

FTPS test

  • Your welcome kit will initially provide credentials for login to the Planning Analytics shared folder by FTPS
  • Alternatively you can switch to SFTP with a support case at which time you can also provide a SSH public key for increased security

Add non-interactive account (optional)

  • For some third-party utilities and to use REST API, a non-interactive account can be added by logging a support case

Setup federation for user logins (optional)

  • Account authentication can be setup for your organization using your identity provider
  • This would allow users to login with the same username / password they already use at your organization
  • You will create a support case with the IBMid federation team to enable
  • Federation can be setup for a whole domain or specific users. It is much simpler to setup for a whole domain but do understand that other IBMid applications and support access will be changed to a federated setup
  • Refer this guide for more details: https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/ief?topic=welcome-introduction
