IBM Db2 Log Analysis Tool v3.6 is now integrated with the Db2 Administration Tool. This integration allows you to seamlessly jump from Log Analysis Tool TSO session to the Administration Tool panel, where you can view detailed information about Db2 objects and navigate the catalog directly.
How to use it:
On the Object Name Filters panel, type 'ADMIN' in the Command line, place the cursor on the object line, and press Enter.

Then Administration Tool shows you information about the objects with the filtering entered in Log Analysis Tool.

Alternatively, you can simply press PF6 with the cursor positioned on the selected object to launch the Administration Tool. (This shortcut is faster since it avoids typing ‘ADMIN’.)
The Administration Tool calling is available not only from the Object Name Filters panel, but also from the table name field in Advanced Filters and the plan name field in Miscellaneous Filters.
How to customize:
During TCz customization, provide the existing Administration Tool product HLQ, table library and prefix.

Once customization is complete, the Administration Tool information will be added to the Log Analysis Tool startup CLIST SALACLST(ALAFRONT).

Looking ahead:
This integration is just the starting point. We are also looking at enabling calls from the Administration Tool back into the Log Analysis Tool. The Db2 Administration Tool continues to serve as an integration hub for Db2 Tools. Several tools already integrate with it, including Db2 Cloning Tool, Db2 SQL Performance Analyzer, Db2 Table Editor, and now the Log Analysis Tool. More integrations are planned for tools such as Db2 Query Monitor, we will see.
