3 Reasons to Attend a QRadar User Group

By Wendy Willner posted Mon September 02, 2019 03:00 AM

Considering attending a QRadar user group? Let me suggest it! As an IBM QRadar Technical Seller, I have had the opportunity to attend QRadar user groups all over North America, and they truly are unique, invaluable experiences for members of the QRadar community.

In my role, I spend my days talking to QRadar users and hearing their successes, answering their questions, and helping them overcome challenges. These conversations are indispensable not just for users, but for me as well; it’s always fascinating to learn about the unique ways our customers use QRadar and add to my knowledge base.

While these conversations are a daily privilege for me, it’s fairly uncommon that our QRadar users get to connect with one another and share their experiences and best practices. User groups offer venues for these discussions.

See below for the top 3 reasons that I suggest attending a QRadar User Group!

3 Things to Expect at QRadar User Groups

  1. Networking with Other Local Users and QRadar Experts: As I mentioned, every QRadar user group is a gathering of regional users, but, in addition, there are always IBM Security experts on hand. We’ve found that forging strong relationships between our customers, their peers, and our technical experts results in optimal QRadar usage and greater user success.

  1. Learning About QRadar Use Cases and Best Practices: User groups are great forums for attendees to share their QRadar experiences, ask questions of peers and IBM technical experts, and discuss both new and tried and true QRadar Use Cases and best practices. For example, we’re planning to talk about cloud integration, support best practices, UBA tuning, collaboration with Resilient, i2, X-Force Exchange, and much more at our upcoming 2019 user groups.

  1. Hearing the Latest Product Roadmaps: At very user group there is a discussion around the new features coming to QRadar in the near future, hosted by the Offering Management team. At our upcoming 2019 user groups we’ll be digging into what’s coming to QRadar in 2020 as a part of version 7.4. We love being able to share these updates with our customers in person so we can host an active conversation and answer any questions.

A bonus expectation? Fun! Each user group is followed by a social activity, from TopGolf to exclusive happy hours.

I hope to see you at our one of our upcoming user groups — come say hi!
