MyFilegateway Language Notifications set to any language other than English results in the email notification to be sent out in English.

Abstract :  This article aims at providing the detailed steps and information on why Myfilegateway email notifications will be sent out in English, even though email notifications are configured to be received in non-English locales.

 

NOTE:- In writing this article, all the configurations and tests were carried out on 5020402 and 5020500 version of SI.

 

Brief description of the problem occurrence :-

  1. Login to myfilegateway UI with the any desired partner credentials

  2. Navigate to Profile menu and enable email notifications for any of the the event codes. In writing this article the even code of FG_0550 has been selected

  3. Set the preferred language to per say ‘Traditional Chinese’ and save the language

 

  1. Login to SI UI with any super user id
  2. Edit the partner that was used to login to myfilegateway and change the ‘Preferred Language’ in the User Information section from ‘Traditional Chinese’ to English            

 

  1. When logged into myfilegateway with respective partner upload a file which results in FG_0550 event to be generated

 

  1. In SI UI search for the FileGatewayEventEmailNotification and observe the Document details which show the FG_0550 event details in English                     

 

  1. Check the email notification received which is in English and not Traditional Chinese                  

 

How to get rid of this issue :-

If you start receiving the emails in English, even though it isn't the preferred language setting to receive the notifications in myfilegateway UI, then

1. Edit the respective partner user in SI dashboard and change the locale back to the desired locale
                                                                         OR
2. In myfilegateway UI set the preferred language notifications once to any desired locale so that the value gets reflected for that user in SI UI
