You spoke, we listened - We're changing the way ideas are submitted to IBM.
For many years, the IBM Request For Enhancement (RFE) Program provided an opportunity for customers, business partners and IBMers to suggest changes to our products and services. However, we know from what you told us that it wasn't always easy to understand the status of your ideas. This is about to change. We have embarked on an IBM-wide program to provide you with a better way to tell us what you need.
We are migrating your ideas onto a single company-wide IBM Ideas Portal, where we are building a way to provide you with a single view into your ideas, an easier way to track them, and the ability to collaborate with users, partners, and IBMers around the world.
All the z/TPF, z/TPFDF, TPF Operations Server and TPF Toolkit RFEs are migrating to the IBM Ideas Portal. This migration includes all open and closed ideas from developerWorks. For each migrated requirement, the developerWorks RFE has a link to the idea on the IBM Ideas Portal. After the migration is complete, updates must be made in the IBM Ideas Portal.
Moving forward, open and work with your ideas through the IBM Ideas Portal. To have an experience that is scoped to IBM Z software, raise ideas and work with them through the IBM Z Software Ideas portal: https://ibm-z-software-portal.ideas.ibm.com.
Just like developerWorks, the level of access to raise an idea or to view ideas only requires an IBMid.
The format for raising an idea was simplified. There is still the concept of private information that is visible to only you and IBM and is not displayed in the IBM Ideas portal.
For more information, see How to open a z/TPF Idea.
Go to ideas.ibm.com and you’ll see a list of all of your ideas that are in Aha!. Click an idea to go to the product’s Aha! Portal and see all of the details that are associated with your idea.
Features of the IBM Ideas Portal:
Views and Subscriptions:
You can view ideas by My Ideas, My Votes or My Subscriptions. You can subscribe to any idea, but there is no concept of watchlists or groups in the IBM Ideas Portal. The users in an existing developerWorks watchlist are added as a subscriber to the ideas during the migration.
Searching:
You can search and filter ideas by status, popular or recently opened. Delivered ideas are hidden by default, but you can add the delivered ideas to your filter.
Notifications:
You’ll continue to receive an email notification when the status of your idea changes and when new comments are added. The notifications will be from Aha! which is the tool that manages ideas.
Voting:
The official voting for z/TPF ideas continues to be with the TPFUG ballot. Note: The SOURCE field in developerWorks where TPFUG was specified does not exist in the IBM Ideas Portal. Because the SOURCE field is no longer available, the TPFUG Requirements Subcommittee will work with the lab on possible changes to the next ballot. The target is to have the next ballot available in the Fall.
The IBM Ideas Portal continues to support voting for ideas, and the votes you placed in developerWorks were migrated. As part of updating the ballot, the team will also provide guidance about how the votes in the IBM Ideas Portal will be used.
The ideas for the z/TPF family of products can be viewed from any of the following portals:
