3 new PTFs for IBM Open Enterprise SDK for Python are now available!

IBM Open Enterprise SDK for Python enables application developers to use one of the fastest growing programming languages natively on the z/OS platform. With the latest release of Open Enterprise SDK for Python, IBM brings the popular Python open source language to help accelerate business transformation and modernization by enabling powerful frameworks for AI & ML, DevOps, and automation.

IBM Open Enterprise SDK for Python 3.13.1 is now available. This release is based on the Python 3.13.1 community release.

New features/updates for IBM Open Enterprise SDK for Python 3.13.1 from IBM include the following:

  • Updated cpython to 3.13.1
  • Updated pip 24.3.1
  • Updated libexpat to 2.6.4
  • Updated cffi to 1.17.1
  • Fixed potential permission denied error when creating a SemLock
  • Included APAR information and version into IBM Open Enterprise SDK for Python
  • Fixed a failure with the 'pip check' command
  • Fixed an issue where the zIIP offloading eligibility was not re-enabled

IBM Open Enterprise SDK for Python 3.12.8 is now available. This release is based on the Python 3.12.8 community release.

New features/updates for IBM Open Enterprise SDK for Python 3.12.8 from IBM include the following:

  • Updated cpython to 3.12.8
  • Updated pip 24.3.1
  • Updated libexpat to 2.6.4
  • Updated cffi to 1.17.1
  • Included terminfo in the IBM Open Enterprise SDK for Python and automatically set the TERMINFO if not already defined
  • Resolved intermittent failures in test_logging
  • Fixed potential permission denied error when creating a SemLock
  • Included APAR information and version into IBM Open Enterprise SDK for Python
  • Fixed a failure with the 'pip check' command
  • Fixed an issue where the zIIP offloading eligibility was not re-enabled

  • Updated cffi to 1.16.0
  • Included terminfo in the IBM Open Enterprise SDK for Python and automatically set the TERMINFO if not already defined
  • Fixed potential permission denied error when creating a SemLock
  • Included APAR information and version into IBM Open Enterprise SDK for Python
  • Fixed a failure with the 'pip check' command
  • Fixed an issue where the zIIP offloading eligibility was not re-enabled
