IBM announced adding Open Enterprise SDK for Python (Python), Z Open Automation Utilities (ZOAU), and Open Enterprise Foundation for z/OS (OEF) to z/OS 3.1 as bypassable requisites, effective July 1st, 2024. See the z/OS 3.1 2Q 2024 Enhancement blog. IBM OEF includes eight open-source products, including Git.
The IBM Dependency Based Build team is happy to announce that we have validated DBB use cases with IBM OEF Git and will support our customers' use of DBB with IBM OEF Git. We encourage customers to look at this page to understand the migration considerations.
We will continue to support Rocket Git shipped with IBM DBB. Please note that it requires customers to get support through the “IBM Elite Support for Rocket Git for zOS” offering. We strongly encourage customers to migrate to IBM OEF Git.
