For students wanting to explore careers in enterprise computing & prepare for the future of work
When thinking about an ultimate IBM mentor, 2 names come to mind: @Eysha Shirrine Powers and @JORIS MERTENS. Both were speakers at some of our IBM zSystems Student Ambassador events on a range of topics. Given the technological possibilities we have available nowadays, it doesn’t matter that they live in different geographic areas than I do. During the events they have already shared so many helpful tips and experiences. I love how excited Eysha is about cryptography. This passion is absolutely contagious, and I bet that even someone not interested in this topic would want to know more after a talk with this very smart woman. Joris on the other hand is interested in anything tech related. No matter the topic, he knows something about it and can direct you to valuable resources. I think this is what being a mentor is about – guiding with tips, sharing experience, sparking interest. Anybody having them as mentors is a lucky person.
