The vCenter Observer provides a comprehensive view of the virtual environment by mapping out primary resources such as hosts, virtual machines (VMs), and servers, along with secondary resources like CPUs, disks, network adapters, operating systems, CD/DVD drives, and floppy drives.
While the detailed structure continues to provide in-depth visibility across all components, some customers may prefer a more focused view centered around primary resources. To support this preference, a new enhancement allows secondary resources to be grouped within their parent VM, offering a cleaner and more customizable topology experience.
The new exclude resources from topology Modelling option allows to exclude one or more of the secondary resources to suit the customers need.

Topologies
Comprehensive topology:

Custom topology excluding all secondary resources :
Secondary resources are modelled as properties of vm resources.

Summary
The customisation allows users to continue to take advantage observer features like correlation and merging topology while giving them more control on the secondary resources in their topology.
