Jupyter Notebooks for Monitoring and Analysis

By Peter KOHLMANN posted Thu August 23, 2018 03:13 PM

Jupyter (Python) example notebooks are available for Data Server Manager, the IBM Integrated Analytics System and for the whole Db2 Family. Have a look in https://github.com/DB2-Samples/minedsmhistory. The example notebooks are organized into four groups:

  • Basic DSM History mining: Example of the how to connect to a DSM historical repository database and collect and analyze data across your enterprise
  • DSM Monitoring History Reports: Examples of how to create detailed storage reports across your enterprise. You can compare two databases, review the history of a single database or analyze and predict storage use and log space.
  • Db2 Table and Schema Size: Example of how to connects directly to a single Db2 family database and break down storage usage by table and schema. It also shows how to identify tables in each schema that use the most data
  • IIAS System Resource Usage: Examples for a single IIAS system that you can use to analyze storage as well as network traffic by the time of day.

I hope these will inspire you to try and write some of your own notebooks.
