The API Connect on IBM Cloud SaaS announced End of Support earlier this year with an end of support date of July 31, 2023. Migrating to an alternative option below provides benefits including access to newer industry standards, the latest innovations, and a modern user experience. Below is a more detailed clarification for customers who purchased IBM API Connect Enterprise Hybrid Entitlement from an IBM Seller or business partner. This clarification does not apply to customers who purchased API Connect Enterprise with PVU Entitlement or with Cloud Pak for Integration.
IBM API Connect Enterprise Hybrid Entitlement provides Software Entitlement for customers to deploy and manage API Connect Enterprise on-premise or on clouds. In addition it provided an option to use the IBM Cloud SaaS “Hybrid Plan” which announced EOS above.
For customers who purchased the IBM API Connect Enterprise Hybrid Entitlement offering, after July 31, 2023, the SaaS component which is End of Support will no longer be available. Customers can continue to use the offering for entitlement of the software for self-managed use only. No new purchase or use of SaaS is allowed, which was disabled upon end of marketing of the SaaS on IBM Cloud plans.
Contract renewals will be allowed for use of the software entitlement. However, if you are using SaaS, renewals of the API Connect Hybrid Entitlement subscription will not allow use of SaaS beyond the End of Support date of July 31, 2023.
Timeline
Current provisioned instances of API Connect on IBM Cloud will be End of Support on July 31, 2023. After July 31, 2023, the service will no longer be available. Your data will be available to you for migration until the End of Support date. You will need to evaluate alternatives outlined below.

Note: all options utilize API Connect version 10 software. Migration from your current environment to V10 will be required.

Option 1: API Connect Reserved Instance. This is a single-tenant fully managed SaaS solution, hosted on IBM Cloud with an annual subscription.

Option 2: API Connect Software, which you are entitled to through the API Connect Hybrid Entitlement subscription you have purchased. This software, self-managed, can be deployed on your infrastructure. This includes on-premise or on your cloud services such as IBM Cloud Kubernetes Service, AWS or Azure. API Calls purchased with your Hybrid Entitlement subscription can be used across deployments.
