The Maximo User Group UK & Ireland met on Wednesday evening in the Auberge in Southbank for a Networking Evening. Over 60 users, partners and IBMers mingled and enjoyed wonderful conversation, food, drink and meeting new members of the community.

The main event kicked off on Thursday morning with the meeting itself in IBM’s brilliant Client Centre in Southbank. Chairman Richard Barber kicked off the day with introduction and outline for the day, 3 new committee members were also introduced, Kenny McAneaney, Linda Wilkinson and Pete Philip. Rich.jpgThe day’s first presentation was from IBM’s Pam Denny telling us about the Maximo Roadmap and how IBM are concentrating on Modernization, Mobile and Asset Performance. pam.jpgAndreas Diamanti from Swissport then took us through their Maximo Global Roll Out stressing the importance of accurate data.

NIE’s Kenny McAneaney brought through their journey to 7.6 and replacing Syclo with Peacock’s Fingertip solution.

We then got to hear some elevator pitches from our Sponsors. They also had stands set-up in the reception area with lots of info and a few goodies. Big thanks to Burman, Peacock, ECCS, Electra Training, Samsung and IBM for supporting the event so generously.

During the coffee and lunch breaks IBM’s Russ McKay could be found with his demo rig showing off some sensors and Maximo’s impressive health insights.

After the break the final presentation from AMCL’s Jim Cooper was Navigating the Digital Hype which stressed the importance of getting data and process right.

After the presentations, attendees got to quiz the presenters in smaller groups for the table topic discussions.

Next there was a short update on the MUG community and how to use the resources available on the IBM community webpage.
Using Klaxoon, we also looked for some feedback, if you didn't get a chance to answer the survey, it's open till the end of the week, please log-on here:

Our presenters were back on stage again summarizing what had been the hot topics at each table.

The wrap up and close had some exciting news about the MUG teaming up with ReliabilityWeb again for a 2 day event in Edinburgh next May for Maximo benchmarking and a MUG meeting.

Overall, a really interesting, energetic event. Thanks to all who attended, sponsored, supported and organised. Keep in touch on the MUG community pages and see you in Scotland in 6 months time!!!
