Message to Community - IBM Z Day 2020

In September of this year, both IBM z15 and the IBM Z and LinuxONE Community will turn a year old, and in that short amount of time, the Community has ballooned to over 5,000 members and has consistently been one of the fastest-growing and most engaged communities on our site month to month. I want to say thank you to the countless developers, programmers, and system administrators for being a part of this first year's journey, and to the IBM Z team for being committed to the principles of open in both technology and Community. A year later, as IBM Z continues it's near 60 year run of mainframe innovation and develops as a cornerstone of any complete hybrid multi-cloud strategy, the IBM Z and LinuxONE Community is as relevant and vibrant as ever.

Aligned with these dual one year anniversaries, I'm excited to announce that after their amazing success last year, the IBM Z team will produce the second annual IBM Z Day - a free one-day virtual conference with over 50 sessions across five tracks where we'll once again have the opportunity to engage with this incredible Community. At IBM Z Day 2019 where I had the privilege to be both an attendee and speaker, over 3,000 registrants got front row seats to the premier virtual IBM Z event of the year, and I hope to see you as some of the greatest minds around IBM Z come together once again.
In IBM Z & LinuxONE GM Ross Mauri's blog, he speaks lucidly and candidly about the breaking down of the silos that exist in today's IT world to create an environment ripe for innovation and collaboration. From a Community perspective, this is what we're all about - breaking down silos that separate our disparate interests, careers, and circumstances to create, share and learn better together. This is our commitment and mission every day, and IBM Z Day 2020 is another chance for us to live up to those values.

Among all the incredible sessions we have planned, you can also look forward to keynotes from myself and my experienced and decorated peers, including:
