The Best-Kept Secret in Information Technology…

Are you a high school student thinking about the next step?  About college?  About an engaging work-life and a robust career?

Do you have a gaming tower in a fishtank to overclock your chip?  Is your favorite foreign language, “Java”?  Does technology and computing interest you?  Are you a problem solver?

If you’ve answered “yes” more than once, maybe you would like to hear about the motherboard of all motherboards:   “The mainframe”!  It is not an exaggeration to say that mainframe servers drive the world’s commerce.  The world’s biggest banks and the world’s biggest retailers (and  many many others) rely on the mainframe because nothing but the mainframe can solve problems that big!  No other compute platform can execute billions of hardened transactions against petabytes of secure data infused by artificial intelligence inferencing, all with millisecond transaction budgets.  If you would like to explore the fascinating world of the mainframe and its technology, and the careers available in the mainframe space, please consider joining us in this special workshop, formatted just for you, where we answer questions like:

  1. What is an IBM mainframe, and what makes it special?

  2. Who uses IBM mainframes? and why?

  3. What mainframe-based career opportunities are open to me?

  4. What should I do to get started on a mainframe career path?

Join us for the “2023 VM Workshop” on Saturday, June 24, 09:00am to 11:00am, in the Ohio Union, at The Ohio State University, to learn about mainframes, and to network with mainframe professionals from around the country.  Use this workshop to gain a competitive advantage over your peers and to position yourself for a lucrative and rewarding career.

Interested?  Space is limited, so please RSVP soon.

Please Note:  This is not a marketing event.  There is limited seating available and educator or parent chaperones will be required for young people not of age.  To RSVP and/or ask questions, please reach out to Marc Smith:  msmith@protechtraining.com

Thank You

Dear Educator, (Teacher / Principal / Guidance-councilor / etc. )

In the United States, 59,000 computer science students graduate college every YEAR while 10,000 baby boomers retire every DAY. There just aren't enough comp-sci students graduating to back-fill the IT roles that the baby boomer generation is leaving behind.

In 2020, there were more than 84,000 mainframe computing IT job positions open and far too few practitioners to fill them.

What does this mean?

It means great IT careers are available on mainframe support teams to those who chart a course to take advantage of the growing imbalance between jobs filled and positions open.  If you and/or your students would like to explore mainframe careers and the remarkable technology that infuses mainframe environments, you may choose to join a special event tailored to those purposes.

You and your students are invited to participate in a mainframe careers workshop to discover the following:

  1. What is an IBM mainframe, and what makes it special?

  2. Who uses IBM mainframes? and why?

  3. What mainframe-based career opportunities are open to me?

  4. What should I do to get started on a mainframe career path?

Students and educators interested in attending this 2-hour event will have all their questions answered.   Additionally, the event will offer the ability to meet a variety of mainframe professionals from around the world spanning roles that vary from managers to programmers to technicians to administrators to architects to sales.

The event will be held in the Ohio Union at The Ohio State University on Saturday morning, June 24th, from 09:00am to 11:00am.  Space is limited so please RSVP soon.   To RSVP and/or ask questions, please reach out to Marc Smith:  msmith@protechtraining.com

We look forward to meeting you and your students on June 24th

Thank You
