Cloud Pak for Data 4.5.1 - What's New!

After the successful delivery of IBM Cloud Pak for Data 4.5 back in June, the IBM team is happy to announce the availability of the first monthly refresh. As with our previous monthly refreshes the focus will continue to address security vulnerabilities in line with IBM's CISO policies. While secure code is a priority, we will also continue to deliver quality and stability improvements: 
  • Extended Data Privacy capabilities for Apache Hive to read, write, and manage masked data that is copied to Apache Hadoop Distributed File System (HDFS) 
  • More advanced data masking capabilities in Watson Knowledge Catalog to redact, substitute, and obfuscate data when creating data protection rules
  • Use Watson Knowledge Catalog policies to filter rows in virtualized tables 
  • Expanded Active Directory support with Microsoft SQL Server connection for Watson Knowledge Catalog and Watson Studio
  • Connect to Cognos Analytics and SAP IQ data sources in DataStage flows (DataStage Connectors)
  • Improve your DataStage transformations by using the Fold, Fmt, and Rmunprint functions, which also now supports partitions (Parallel transform functions)
  • Start using Spark 3.2 for your R scripts and Shiny Apps in RStudio Server (what's new)
  • Additional options to customize your Jupyter environment templates and custom images using mamba package manger
  • Now access your models in storage volumes when using Watson Machine Learning Accelerator inference services
  • Manage your Db2 and Db2 Warehouse databases with Data Management Console using vaults to securely store and access credentials (what's new)
  • Use Cognos Authentication Method (CAM) as an authentication method when you create a connection to a Planning Analytics data source in Data Virtualization 
  • Bug fixes and additional improvements for all Cloud Pak Data Services (details)
