Three Ways the New IBM Transformation Extender 10.0 Makes Your Job Easier

By Luke Raiano posted Thu March 14, 2019 02:49 PM

You know that it isn’t enough to exchange data between people and systems. To use it you need “any-to-any” data integration which translates data so that the application receiving the data "recognizes" it. We’ve now made that process even easier with IBM Transformation Extender (ITX) version 10.0, which is available March 15th.

ITX automates complex transformation and validation of data across a range of formats and standards for some of the most mission-critical applications in the world—including finance, healthcare and supply chain/distribution.

Three Big Enhancements in version 10.0

ITX version 10.0 includes three major enhancements I want to make sure you know about.

  1. New, fully updated cloud-based user experience

The core of the new release is a new, intuitive user interface that allows you to see the hierarchical structure of data, as well as any rules that are applied to its components, along with related restrictions and properties all much more easily.

As a modern way to access solutions and data, RESTful APIs are critically important across the solutions in the B2B and MFT portfolios. Based on the work done with RESTful APIs, complete access to ITX is now faster and easier with a new cloud-based user experience that allows you to continue your journey to efficient, cost-effective hybrid cloud infrastructures. The new browser-based experience makes ITX a repository-based solution, with maps and schemas available for easier collaboration and reuse. For instance, you will be able to store data on your MongoDB instance, where your developers can leverage cloud technologies to develop across a number of different solutions in a much broader way.

To see the new user experience for yourself, watch this 30-minute webcast featuring a demo of the modern UI.

  1. Cloud-enabled

ITX version 10.0 will further extend into the cloud to both engage data residing there – and as a runtime in various hybrid cloud contexts. This protects the technology investments you have made and enables easy access and integration of data and technologies. We also plan to provide additional adapters to reach into public cloud infrastructures, like AWS.

  1. Updates to Industry packs

ITX Industry packs provide out-of-the-box capabilities to integrate a range of industry-standard data formats with your enterprise infrastructure, making it faster and easier to implement updates and environment-specifics. Industry packs available concurrent with the release of ITX v10 will provide updated predefined schemas and maps for:

    • Financial Services: SWIFT, ISO 20022, SEPA, NACHA
    • Healthcare: HIPAA, HL7, NCPDP
    • Supply Chain Support: X12, EDIFACT, TRADACOMS

How to Get Started & Reduce Cost of Ownership

Our new 30-minute webcast, “A Sneak-peek Into the Next Release of IBM Transformation Extender,” is available to watch on demand. It features a demo of the new UI experience which is the core of the next release.

ITX will be available on March 15th. At that time, if you are current on Service & Support you can access traditional e-images or Docker images for ITX v10.0 through Passport Advantage.  For z/OS visit shopZ. Installation upgrade guides are available on the Knowledge Center.

Deploying ITX in Docker containers lowers the cost of ownership by significantly reducing installation and maintenance time for both on premises and across cloud endpoints. Container support simplifies installation and management of your ITX infrastructure.

If you are new to ITX, contact your IBM sales rep or business partner and they will help you get started.
