IBM TechXchange is nearly here!
IBM TechXchange 2025 kicks off October 6th in Orlando, and QRadar users have a lot to look forward to during Community Day. The afternoon will feature sessions focused on what’s new and what’s next for QRadar, followed by how AI is transforming investigations and then join us with Senior Architect Colin Hay on how to optimize your deployment with smarter data acquisition, attack timelines, system performance improvements, and rule versioning. These topics directly address the growing need for speed and efficiency in modern SOCs.
Beyond QRadar, TechXchange is IBM’s premier technical learning event, bringing together over 1,000 experts to explore the latest in AI, quantum computing, and Infrastructure as Code. If you're contributing to open-source projects, earning certifications, or diving into immersive labs, this is your chance to build skills that accelerate your career.
And don’t forget the fun—Tuesday night features an exclusive Universal Studios experience, with early park access and photo ops with iconic characters. It’s the perfect way to unwind and connect with peers after a full day of learning.

Smarter Searches for Smarter Security
On October 1st, we’re hosting a webinar dedicated to search optimization in QRadar. As data volumes grow and SOC teams face increasingly complex investigations, search performance becomes critical. In this session, our experts will walk through recent enhancements that make searches faster, more intuitive, and more scalable.
We’ll explore how QRadar now offers improved progress visualization, better performance in multi-tenant environments, and enhanced visibility into partial search results. You’ll also get a look at our AI-powered AQL Generator, which helps analysts build queries more efficiently. These updates are designed to help teams move quicker when threat hunting and responding to incidents.

Spotlight: Tiered Storage
Organizations are ingesting more data than ever before, and compliance requirements often demand that this data be retained for years. Storing all of it on high-performance storage is costly and unnecessary. Tiered Storage addresses this challenge by separating recent, high-demand data from older, less frequently accessed data.
With this approach, recent data remains in a hot tier for fast searches, while older data moves to a warm tier that uses more cost-effective storage. This strategy improves search performance where it matters most and reduces infrastructure costs without sacrificing compliance. Real-world deployments have shown dramatic improvements, including searches that run up to 50 times faster for recent data.
Tiered Storage Phase 1 is currently on the roadmap for an upcoming release.

Community Spotlight: Jakarta Workshop

Our recent QRadar workshop in Jakarta brought together a vibrant community of security professionals from across APAC to dive into the latest innovations in threat detection and response. Attendees explored how QRadar SIEM leverages AI and User & Entity Behavior Analytics (UEBA) to uncover hidden risks, while QRadar SOAR showcased its power to streamline and automate incident response. We also demonstrated how QRadar EDR defends endpoints against sophisticated attacks. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us, shared their insights, and helped shape the future of QRadar with their thoughtful feedback!
