We're making some changes to our current delivery strategy for the z/TPF content on IBM Documentation.
Currently, we host several versions of the z/TPF content collection on IBM Documentation. Because of the duplication, search results very often show the older versions of the content first, which can make it more difficult to find the most recent or relevant content.
To help address some of those issues, we are going to reduce the duplication and host only the last 3 content collections on IBM Documentation online.
For those of you who still need those older versions, don’t worry – we’re not taking anything away. The previous versions will still be available for you. Simply download the package that you need from our Product documentation sets for IBM Documentation Offline download page and view the content through the IBM Documentation Offline application.
IBM Documentation Offline
The IBM Documentation Offline application is a local desktop application that is available for macOS, Windows, or Linux. The application is designed for organizations that run in a dark shop environment, but it is available for anyone to use.
To use the IBM Documentation Offline application to view previous versions of the z/TPF product documentation collections, complete the following steps:
- Download and install the IBM Documentation Offline application. Note: You must be logged in with your IBMid to access the application. This is a one-time set up step.
- Download the product documentation set that you want from our Product documentation sets for IBM Documentation Offline download page.
- Open the IBM Documentation Offline application, click Add or update docs, and select the product documentation set that you downloaded in step 2.
You can also add the current versions of the documentation to the IBM Documentation Offline application for use when you don't have an Internet connection or anytime that you might want to view the content locally.
- If you haven't already, download and install the IBM Documentation Offline application. Note: You must be logged in with your IBMid to access the application. This is a one-time set up step.
- From IBM Documentation online, download the product documentation set for the online version that you want. At the bottom of the table of contents navigation, click Offline docs to download that version of the product documentation. Note: You must be logged in with your IBMid to see the Offline docs link.
For example:
- Open the IBM Documentation Offline application, click Add or update docs, and select the product documentation set that you downloaded in step 2.
- Periodically, the online documentation is updated. When the documentation is updated, the link at the bottom of the table of contents navigation in IBM Docs indicates Update available.
