IBM Software Hub v5.2.1 is generally available now. This update is focused on delivering measurable benefits to our users by enhancing usability and boosting operational efficiency.
IBM introduced the AI Assistant feature with the release of v5.2, and with this latest Software Hub release, we’ve made several significant enhancements to our Premium AI Assistant to further improve the user experience.
We have added a new predefined prompt for the System Health Check, providing administrators with a quick and convenient way to assess the health of their systems when service issues arise. This prompt quickly highlights any detected issues and provides relevant documentation URLs to help you resolve them or learn more. A detailed pop-out view is also available, offering in-depth information about each issue, including its severity and a description. This proactive approach to health monitoring helps teams stay on top of their environments, reduce downtime, and avoid unnecessary support escalations.

The Premium AI Assistant also includes a pop-out dashboard for Resource Usage that gives administrators a clear view of resource consumption, helping them get detailed information on pod usage by resource type. This helps spot issues faster and supports smarter decision-making around resource allocation. To access the resource usage dashboard, users need to select "Manage Resources" from the predefined prompts, then choose "Check Resource Usage", followed by "Highest Usage by Pod". From there, they can select the desired resource type and click "See Details".

The enhanced version of the AI Assistant now includes support for multiple source URLs in documentation search, allowing users to access all relevant and related documents based on their queries. This upgrade makes it easier to find the right information faster, helping users better understand issues or troubleshoot more efficiently. With clickable documentation links available directly in the query results, issue resolution becomes quicker, reducing operational delays. By pulling from multiple trusted sources, the upgraded Documentation Search ensures simplified access to critical information when it’s needed most.

By simplifying routine tasks and improving efficiency, teams are empowered to prioritize the areas that matter most. Overall, the AI Assistant is now better equipped to streamline Day 2 operations, enabling teams to dedicate more time to higher-value work.
Along with this, Software Hub now supports external vaults for storing secrets like the WxO API key. Previously, only internal vaults were supported.
Beyond these enhancements, this release introduces new features across key services such as Data Product Hub, IBM Knowledge Catalog, IBM StreamSets, watsonx.ai™, and watsonx.data™. We’ve also expanded support for orchestration pipelines on Power, IBM Z, and LinuxONE platforms, providing greater flexibility for diverse enterprise environments.
Additionally, this release introduces two new services: IBM watsonx Code Assistant™ for Z Agentic and IBM watsonx Code Assistant for Z Code Generation, both designed to support client productivity and innovation.
